The Collection
To create the washable Echo Collection, we explored the muted lines and textures found in the artworks of Otto Neumann and Zarina Hashmi. Each motif was sketched by our team, preserving the natural irregularities of the hand. Tonal palettes, organic geometrics, and abstract compositions give these designs versatility to be styled in any direction. Woven with a subtle textural quality, these washable rugs are optimized for comfort and ease.
The Design
Wave features a crosshatch grid creating an abstract, all-over pattern.
The Material
Soft as wool with a very subtle silk-like sheen, our polyester is highly durable, OEKO-TEX certified for safety, mildew-resistant, and machine-washable. In this piece, it's combined with a cotton warp that's both strong and supple. Cotton, a vegetable fiber, is widely used across rug traditions because of its sturdiness and longevity.
The Maker
Our partner in Turkey has been in the rug business for 23 years. Driven by sustainability, they operate energy-efficient machinery, repurpose scrap yarn and recycled materials throughout the production process, and support tree-planting programs to help offset emissions.
The Designer
Our in-house, all-star design team works across Los Angeles, Istanbul, Bhadohi, and Mumbai. Starting with the weave itself, they determine the collection material, technique, and mood. When designs are finalized, they conduct an extensive sampling process, perfecting each style and hue before it goes to production.
- Clean on low power with a non-rotary vacuum or suction attachment (no spinning brush) only
- Lightly vacuum the rug once a week
- Use a high-quality rug pad to absorb shock and reduce damage
- Light shedding, matting, and signs of fiber or thread breakage may occur over time, depending on the material and weave. In high-traffic areas, these effects may appear more quickly.
- When it's time for a deeper clean, machine wash your rug with like colors on a delicate setting with 1 TBSP of unscented, clear detergent.
- For size 5' x 8' we recommend using a 60lb (8cuft) commercial washing machine, for 6' x 9' we recommend an 80lb (11.5cu ft) commercial washing machine, and for 8' x 10' we recommend a 100lb (13.5cu ft) commercial washing machine. Please call your local laundromat ahead of time to determine if the right washer size is available.
- For sizes 9' x 12' and above, spot or dry clean.
- Be sure to wash rugs according to their recommended washing machine size capacity. Please note: failure to adhere to size recommendations could result in damage to your machine.
- Preferably line dry. Alternatively, tumble dry on no or low heat setting.
- If your rug is heavily soiled, or if it's tough to find a laundromat, dry cleaning is recommended
- A slight shrinkage of up to 3% can be expected for all washable rugs
- Foot traffic and movement can skew the fiber direction of your rug. For a more uniform look, brush your rug with your hand or a stiff plastic bristle brush to smooth and reorient the pile.
- Spot cleaning instructions:
- Lightly dampen a paper towel or cloth with clean water
- Gently blot the affected area with your damp towel or cloth to dilute the stain
- If the stain persists, try using an unscented, citrus-free, clear soap to avoid bleaching the textile.
- Repeat this process until the stain is removed
